Comeback Tanzania Adventure was founded in 2009 after fifteen years guiding for other operators. The idea: take the agency model seriously from the local side.
Tanzania-owned, Tanzania-run, Tanzania-invested.
Most safari operators in Tanzania are foreign-owned — companies based in South Africa, Europe, or the US that sub-contract local teams.
We're the opposite. Every decision is made in Arusha. Every guide is on full-time salary, not per-trip commission. Every booking supports the Tanzanian economy directly, not a foreign holding company.
Not marketing fluff — the structural choices that separate us from larger foreign-owned operators.

No foreign call centres, no overseas holding company. Every decision, every profit, every tax dollar stays in Tanzania.
Since 2009
Our guides are on full-time salary, not commission per trip. They have no incentive to rush you through sightings or push upsells.
All 8 senior guides
1.5% of every booking goes directly to the Serengeti De-Snaring Program and Honeyguide Foundation. $180K contributed in three years.
Built in
Every enquiry, every booking, every issue — dealt with by the team directly. No layers, no escalations.
Owner-ledHow Comeback Tanzania came to be, and what's kept it going.
Our founder guides his first safari for an Arusha-based outfit. Fifteen years follow, moving through the big international operators.
Three vehicles, a small office in Arusha, and one promise: clients deal with owners, not call centres.
Advocacy for Tanzanian-owned operators inside the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators begins.
1.5% of every booking begins going directly to anti-poaching work through the Serengeti De-Snaring Program.
Over ten thousand travellers served. Every one of them dealt with a Tanzanian, not a foreign call centre.
Four office staff. Eight senior guides. Zero foreign ownership. The model still works.
The principles we check decisions against — not slogans, but actual internal standards.

If a shorter trip is the right call, we'll say so. If your dates are wrong for the experience you want, we'll tell you. Our repeat-booking rate is what we optimise, not first-trip revenue.
Our rule
Our senior guides grew up at the foot of Kilimanjaro, studied the bush for two decades, speak six Tanzanian languages between them. That knowledge isn't something foreign operators can buy.
Built in
Four office staff. Eight senior guides. Twelve vehicles. We could scale up tomorrow — but quality drops when you do. We'd rather stay small and deliver unforgettable trips.
On purpose
Tanzania is losing an elephant every 15 minutes to poaching. We can't fix that alone, but we can fund the rangers who can. 1.5% of every trip goes to anti-poaching.
Non-negotiableEveryone you'll interact with — all based in Arusha, all Tanzanian.
"After ten African safaris with different operators, Comeback Tanzania is the only one I'd book again without hesitation. Comeback Tanzania's team is a different class."
